We three are bringing up the rear. We’re split into 4 groups for various reasons, we’ll explain later- maybe
Learning from yesterday we’ve stopped for food after more up bits. 17 miles to Whitby according to the signs (we’re in Castleton). One extra for lunch but we’ve no sugar cubes or carrots.
Well we all made it to Osmotherly for 630. It was a day of steep climbs and the last 10 miles seemed to go on forever. We’re at one of the more traditional youth hostels – the sort of place you’ll remember from your school trips.
Interesting series of route choices by the group. Between us, we took 4 or 5 different routes to our rendevous point at Easby Abbey. Arriving in bits and drabs, we’re now sat with tea and cake served by two lovely old ladies who’ve also refilled the water bottles for us
